Beyond Land Acknowledgements

We are committed to going beyond Land Acknowledgements by:

Supporting and celebrating the Native American Educational and Cultural Center (NAECC) and other cultural and research centers who cultivate Native student success and support awareness of Indigenous Peoples histories, cultures, rights, and communities.

Committing to learn about the role our university and other affiliated institutions of the lab have played in historical legacies and current practices that impact Indigenous Peoples.

Fostering learning collaborations among faculty, staff, students, and the public in ways that support anti- and decolonial research efforts

Intentionally engage in anti- and de-colonial work.

Committing to engage critically with dominant narratives and practices so not to reproduce ongoing harms

Seeking to practice relational accountability to build respectful relationships.

Creating collaborative and consensual lab protocols to share labor equitably.
